In the Spirit of Change  Shamanism teaches the sacredness of all life, offering a fresh perception of contemporary environmental issues. The Native American Indians and the Tibetans symbolically use similar concepts of nature to focus their intent for a holistic life.
'"The journey isn't only one of finding the meaning of life" but also, "What is the experience of life?".'                                                      _Joseph Campbell

The multicultural symbolism I use in my work represents this experience, the balance, and the interconnectedness of all life on this planet.

Ming is the Chinese word for enlightenment meaning brilliance and is illustrated by the sun and the moon. The Navajo word for enlightenment is hozho which trans-lates as the beauty found within the environment and the wisdom to live there in harmony and balance. While many Americans are searching for their place in our adopted homeland, the ancients always knew that true connection requires the wisdom of balance. My light forms reflect the spiritual journey.

My sculptural pieces contain materials gathered at sacred sites around Arizona and use symbolism that represents these concepts as well. Through the use of sound, shape and texture they are intended to provide soothing experience for quietly meditating upon nature and the sacredness of life. The quality of life we share an earth as our spiritual transformation unfolds, depends upon our wise stewardship of the land. The choice is ours.
